February 22 update

Hey guys. It has been such a busy week. Jaque is in PT right now, so thought I would give you the low down on how it has been.

We have still been having the blood pressure issues, but it is getting better. She has learned so much this week. We have done transfers (where she does the work) to a couch, and into a car. She did so great. Her theraphist Jeannie told Jaque she was inpressed with her. She said that if she starts getting into trouble during a transfer, she never quits or looks back, she just takes to best route forward and gets herself out of the jam. Typical Jaque, huh?

She also got to go to the weight room. Coach -- get ready, I think that the girls will have their own personal trainer when she gets out of her. She is really going to learn a lot about weights, technique and benefits of different machines. And you all know Chris - he is right there thinking of ways that he and Bo McKee and modify things to build then ones she is working on right now.

The airport outing was good. She got really sick at her tummy on the train part. It is fast start and fast stop, but she did better on the bus! Again, she was the only girl. It was interesting to me that the fact that she was manuvering in a chair did not botter he in the least bit. Well, except when she make Chris push her on the carpet.

She gets blood thinner shots once a night to ensure that we do not get clots. The exciting thing is that she has started feeling those shots. And yesterday felt pain in her lower back. Weird for a mom to want her child to feel pain, but these are great signs from our Lord above that his is working hard within her.

Also they put her on a machine that will chech for muscle movement in her legs. OK EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION HERE! This is an important machine in the spinal cord injury community. This machine test to see if the muscles are still awake and to see if when electrically stimulated, will they move. In true Jaque form, the did. They said that they got a great response. PRAISE GOD. This does not mean that she is moving on her own yet, but means that she has all the potential in the world, and that from heaven above. We are still seeing toes move, and she moved her foot about 1/4 inch the other day. At night she is restless in her legs. Some is spasm, but some see to be so natural, subconscience movement. Right now their main focus is her upper body and getting it ready for her to be 100% indenpendant. Then they will work their way down. Main thing now is to wait for the swelling in the spinal column to go down, and things start firing again.

It is hard to write in this how well she is doing. I wish you could all come and see those around us hurting. There are so many that need prayers, and so many that do not have her will or faith. But through her smile, she is making an impact. She is so far ahead of tha game, so far.

Lastly, Mimi updated the blog. She is so great for keeping that going. I just wanted to let everyone know that the football she mentioned is something started by a patient long ago. It is passed, as she said, when one leaves. Upon leaving, that person gives it to the one they see working the hardest, giving it al, plus 5%. You know how tough Jaque is. When Adam was telling her the story of the football, he was jst telling her how he got it. She was listening with wide open eyes. She said that is soooo cool. Then when he handed it to her, she almost cried. She was speachless. What an honor bestowed to such a deserving young woman. And where does she get her strength?

Through all of you. Through your emails, your text messages, and phone calls. I cannot thank you enough.

God has restored health unto Jaque and is healing her wounds.

Love you all, until next time BE SAFE and wear that seatbelt.

We will get you a date on the coming home party as soon as we get a good idea of when it will be. I hope it will work out where everyone can attend.

Thanks for your prayers and thoughts, Love Carol

Hey Jaque,
It's Autumn (Tim's wife). I just wanted to let you know that I read your blog every day and Tim and I are so very proud of you. I've always felt connected to you because of softball and now even though you are (much) younger than me--you are serving as such an inspiration! I pray for you every day and the Lord told me that he is going to do great things through you. Keep fighting!!

Hey Jaque, I'm very happy you are going the extra mile to come home for a visit and to get home for good. But don't push too hard or it will only delay your progress. Remember we are all praying for you and wanting you back home soon.
Janet's computer has been down so I've been reading her the updates over the phone. She sends her love and prayers.
When you get back you will have a very good testimony for the people here.
Keep fighting and we LOVE you.
God is Great all the time.

Hey my sweet girl,
I know I have not been writing you and I'm sorry for that, but my computer has been acting up. I was able to get online today and wanted to let you know WE LOVE YOU!! We think about you every day and send our prayers. It is always good to hear your voice. I will type again later. I want you to at least get this before my computer shuts off.
Keep up the good work and yours eyes on the healer. God will always give you the strength you need for each mountain you have to climb. We are soooo proud of you. We can't wait to see you. So glad we are moving back and we can be close to you guys again. You're room is going to be awesome. Uncle Toby and some of the guys worked on it again today and will continue tommorrow. I did not get to help this time. I had to stay in Genoa. There are so many great people helping with your room. That is such a blessing to know there are so many kind people. I teared up last weekend when I saw your name on the church sign. I took a picture of it. It says Pray for Jaque Hall and family. Don't won't to stop typing but need to send so you will get this much. I will type again.
Love you my sweet girl.
