Yes, Jaque has her ride back. Yesterday Aunt Larissa and Grandma Kay took Jaque's car down and dropped it off. Praise God for our wonderful family. A place in Dangerfield TX put in her hand controls, and then she got to drive it home. She had such a big grin on her face. We actually giggled when she got a cramp in her hand from sqeezing the wheel to hard.
When we pulled up in the driveway she started honking the horn at dad! She told him to hop in and they went for a short ride to Idabel. I do not know who looked more proud. I know that all of you are thinking -- what are Chris and Carol thinking letting her drive, right? Well, you have to understand that Jaque has been such an independent child her entire life. She never has stayed idle for long. I can remember a time when she had just started walking. She caught me out of the kitchen. She pushed over a chair, climbed on to the counter, on to the bread box, up on top of the fridge, and was eating cereal. This is the day that I knew God was telling me to step out of my comfort zone. From that day forward, i have looked at her in awe. She and I laughed so hard when a car pulled out in front of her and her leg (all on its own) tried to hit the brake. Don't worry, they put a plate in front of the gas and brake so you cannot get your feet stuck on them.
It is so busy. Trying to get back into a work/school routine. Uncle Lane came in this weekend. Jaque was glad that he helped Chris pour the ramp out the back door. Sassy got her paws in on it while everyone was in the front yard. Lane also makes a great fork truck. And she keeps warning him about that AD (adrian peterson) jersey on his wall. Says he better hide it when we come down.
Just as a medical update we are seeing some great improvements in her trunk control. She is gaining more control in the torsoe. Also, her lungs are doing better. Doctor just thinks that the allergies around McCurtain County are going to take a little getting use to. Jaron and Jordan caught her some really cool bugs last night down by our pond. And Eddie is loving the pond.
I cannot even express to you all how much I appreciate your reading this blog and your continued prayers for Jaque and our family. We are so lucky. A man that I met once - our area manager where I work - was in today. First thing he did was hug me and asked how "Jaque" was doing. He said that he had everyone he knows praying for her and that he knew God had plans for her. He had come to know of her just a couple of weeks before her accident and he said that something about her just touched his heart. He said that we just have to be patient in life to get the good God has to offer.
Jaque's friend Jason (our Shephard Center neighbor) from Florida will undergo yet another surgery on Wed, so please pray for him tonight.
Hope that you are all ready for summer. Did you know that it is already May? Man, times flies so quickly. We are trying to sell our camper, we have found a camper that Jaque can manuver around in her chair in. Got to get that girl to the lake and swimming. She likes swimming, right Papa Danny. Talk with you all soon.

Hey sweetie,
Girl you always amaze us. I'm so glad you got your wheels back. That is so crazy cool that your leg moved when you were driving. See it knows what to do its trying to be lazy. I know a good coach. She's a Jr. and about 5'3" really pretty and can whip those legs right into shape. But she doesn't do a good job up against her Aunt Prissy. She still kicks her butt. It's so neat how life just has those little lessons we learn everyday. We miss you and are so thankful you're doing great we pray for you every night. love you bunches!!! Always remember to enjoy the little things in life because one day those little things will turn into the most important thing. Love You
