Hey all. Guess you are all sitting around nursing that sunburn like we all are. Well I know it has been a while since I posted anything. Sorry. We have been super busy. It is still so hard to keep up with Jaque. She has traveled tonight to Horatio AR to watch her summer team, the Haworth Heat (school kids) play. I know she really got to miss playing, but when her friends are on the field, that is where she wants to be also.
Jaque's freshman ball players graduated from our JR High last week. She was mentioned in two of their speeches. I wanted to wait to post until I had exact word's, but just feel led to have you all know about them. Kayla's speech started "when you feel like giving up, play harder." she said that this is a quote from Jaque Hall. She went on to talk about how that really goes for everything in your life, and ended it with the same sentence she started with . It was a great speech. Then came Rachel. She wanted to talk about hero's. I will post the entire speech when I get a copy. She talked about how the night of the accident changed her life, and through it how much even moreso that Jaque was her hero. She said that she did not have a cape, but that her attitude, faith, and knowing that God was using her for a greater good -- that is what makes Jaque her hero. She said that she, like everyone else, questioned why Jaque. She could not understand of all it could have been, why her. She said that she came to the understanding that she knows that God sees that Jaque will make a great witness, now, and when she walks again.
It was wonderful. I was so proud as a mother. I thought that your entire life as a mom you dream that people can see what you see in your child, and with Jaque they do. Praise God.
Do you like the picture? Yep, she did it. She rode the tube this weekend. Yes, she even got on the smaller one and told Chris to speed up and to turn some. I of course hit him up side the head! But she laughed and said "mom, chill out." She got to swim. We have waited so long. We did not just sit and watch her, more we just floated and relaxed. She did do the mirmade and used her arms and midsection to make her feet float up to the top of the water. And yes - grandma's she even tried a little with the life jacket off, when I was not looking. And I am not even going to mention that Chris let her drive the boat.
We really had a great weekend camping with Toby, Larissa, Jaron, Jordan, and Andrew. I am sitting in an empty house, and all I can think of is to thank God for saving Jaques life! I am like you all -- impatient at times, but as you can see her smile is as big as it ever was. She just lights up a room.
I thank God for our wonderful family and friends. You are a great support system. You always here people say that if they could just save one person on this earth, if they could just make a difference in one persons life - they will be happy. Well, I hope through Jaque's story, she not only saved and touched all of us, but we can pay it foward as well. God bless each and every one of you tonight. May he come into your heart and give you a hug from mine! Carol
