On the road the recovery

Well, i guess you could say that the road to recovery has many areas. Yesterday, Grandma Kay and I took Jaque to see her pediatrician. He talked with her a little while, and then he said, "Jaque, you have not changed a bit. You are just as Sassy as ever!" Praise God. She is starting to feel better already. She was so glad to see him, and he said thank God that she was alive. Yes, thank him.

Last night we ventered to the ball park. Yes, that is what I said. The ballpark. Jaque's won ever award that could be given at that park. We had an undefeated season. We have had three home runs in one night. We have even had a perfect game thrown there. She was excited to go because a little girl that she had been giving lessons was playing. Abby was hoping that Jaque could come, and Jaque wanted to see everyone - including her little project. Abby did great. No, she did not strike them all out, but who does at 11 years old. And, yes, Jaque did tell her that it would come, just keep her body straight!

When we arrived, it was like I was with a celebrity. Well, gosh, I was. Everyone came over and was so glad to see her. Madison and Haley were headed out the gate, and walked back in with her. They are such great friends. She was not the least bit emotional. She was excited, but not in anyway fearful or disappointed. Here she is watching her friends play the love of her life, a little round ball. You know what she said - she said, "Man, Amber if you release it this way you will get a better spin." "Lanie is throwing better than I have ever seen her." Then in talking about Abby she told Madsion to yell at her not to aim it, and to tell her she was doing a great job. She told Diane (comish of girls softball) that they played well, and those girls just better be glad that she was not out there. And she laughed, saying it won't be long. She said, well it might be - but I hope not, just when ever God is ready.

Yep, there is Coach Jaque, back in action. She has somewhat of a glow around her. Most of that is because she is our little miracle, but that field brought some too. She is such a loving girl. She in all that she has been through - still sees that she has so much to offer. Today, in what physical shape she is in -- but more importantly, tomorrow and each day to come in that that God is offering her for the rest of her life. He is working on her, and she will prevail.

Grandma Kay said that everyone out at the ball park knew her, the spikey haired grandma. I could tell that she was so proud to be with Jaque, and Jaque was proud for her to be there too. Someone said that she looked in such good spirits. My comment was, we she is actully kind of quiet today. Typical Jaq, right? Everyone we saw said "Jaque, I have been praying for you." Everyone. GOD IS ALIVE AND IS WORKING THROUGH HER.

Thank God that she is alive, and thank God for all of you praying. There has never been a day of doubt for me that she will walk again. Remember what I have told you all - those that were in the devil's bleachers have moved to God and Jaque's side. She is #8, the eight ball on a pool table. It does not matter how well you play the game of pool, unless you are the one to hit in the eightball flawlessly, you cannot win. Yes, she is still a typical teanager, but what I am telling you is that through her, many teens will come to see Jesus as our Lord. She is #8. She has made your faith stronger, hasn't she -- see the it factor is working!

Love you all. Carol

Hello! I found your site through a friend of mine who was telling me about Jaque. I am so glad you are doing better and have a positive spirit. I know it hasn't been an easy road and you will continue to struggle but know God is at work around and through you. God has saved your life (literally) for reasons you will see here on earth but some you won't see until we stand before him. Remember where much is given.Much is required. My daughter was also an outstanding softball/basketball player.Top in her school, county and state. Offered many scholarships to the top schools in the nation to play for them. One night while driving her cellphone rang and she reached for it and that is the last thing she ever did on earth. My daughter wasn't as lucky as you were. God had other plans for her. I hope in your excitement and your courage and excitement of life you are spreading a message not only of what God has done for you but for car safety as well. We have used our daughters death to warn teenagers that a split second of reaching for a cellphone can take your life. Your parents seem amazing. Remember if it is in God's plan for you to never walk again he still has a plan for your life. To inspire, motivate, bring hope to others, but most importantly to bring honor and glory to him. Play on Jaque..Play on..
